Library Provision of Newspapers and news content
The main source of online newspapers is accessible from Lexis+ UK (previously Lexis Library) with full text access to most UK newspapers, including broadsheets, tabloids, and regional titles.
Lexis+ UK
Includes The Guardian, Herald, Independent, Telegraph, Times and more. Go to the Content menu > Newspapers - enter your search terms in the box provided or browse via the headings at the bottom of the screen, UK National Broadsheets, Scottish Newspapers etc. if required.
Our academic search engine LibrarySearch also indexes newspaper articles and newswires from various sources. Search by key words/phrases and use the content facets/filters to only display 'newspaper article' or 'newswire' results. Note: LibrarySearch does not index newspaper articles found in Lexis+ UK - you must search that resource directly.
Newspaper Websites
Many newspapers are also available online from the publisher's website, most with an archive. You may need to register.
Dundee City Libraries The Central Library takes several local and national newspapers. Electronic newspapers tend not to include photographs and other graphical information, so it may be necessary to consult the originals. Local newspapers are kept permanently.
The National Library in Edinburgh has an extensive newspaper collection. Students wishing to consult any of these should check information on using the library.
