BrowZine is a service for browsing, reading and following academic journals available through Abertay. It brings journals from different publishers together in one browsing view. Use it to explore journals in your subject, browse their available issues and keep up with new articles during a project or dissertation.
Find journals in BrowZine
Use the search box below to find journals by title, ISSN (journal identifier) or subject keywords. Subject searches find journals and subject categories to browse, not individual articles.
When to use LibrarySearch instead
- For article searching: BrowZine’s search finds journals and subject categories, rather than searching the contents of individual articles. To find a particular article or articles on a topic, use LibrarySearch or a relevant subject database. See Find a journal article.
- For checking journal access: BrowZine does not include every journal or issue available through Abertay, and browsing generally starts at 2005. A missing journal or issue therefore does not necessarily mean that Abertay lacks access. See Check if Abertay has a journal for available platforms and coverage dates.
BrowZine links in LibrarySearch
When searching LibrarySearch, you may see:

Browse Journal Contents with a journal-title result. This opens the journal in the web version of BrowZine.

Browse Articles in this Journal beneath an article result. This opens BrowZine so you can explore other articles in the same issue or journal.
This can help you discover further reading around an article you have found. You can also add the journal to My Bookshelf if you want to follow new articles. These browsing links will not appear on every LibrarySearch result.
Browse subject categories
To explore journals without entering search terms, open BrowZine and:

Choose your subject area and, where available, a more specific category.

Select a journal to explore its available issues.

Open an issue to view its articles and follow the links to read those that interest you.
Use your Abertay sign-in if prompted to access an article.
Follow journals and save articles
You do not need a personal BrowZine account to browse journals or open available articles.
If you want to follow journals or save articles for later, you can create an optional personal BrowZine account. This is separate from your Abertay account.
With a personal account, you can:

add journals to My Bookshelf and see when new articles become available;

save and organise articles in My Articles.
Select My Bookshelf or My Articles and follow the on-screen instructions to create an account or sign in. Before creating an account, read Third Iron’s privacy policy.

Use the BrowZine app (optional)
You can use BrowZine in your web browser without installing an app. If you prefer, a free BrowZine app is available for iOS and Android devices.
Download the BrowZine app, select Abertay University from the library list and follow the sign-in instructions. Use your separate personal BrowZine account for My Bookshelf and My Articles.
