Critically evaluating journal articles

When selecting an article, start by assessing the reputation of the journal in which it's published. This is similar to the "Authority" criteria in the CRAAP (Currency, Relevance, Authority, Accuracy, Purpose) evaluation framework.

• Look for articles in respected, peer-reviewed journals relevant to your field of study. These journals typically have more rigorous review processes.

• Be cautious of articles from predatory or questionable open-access journals, as they may lack proper peer review and quality control. 
• Gather information about the journal’s editorial board, peer-review process, and publication history. This will help you gauge the journal's credibility.

Consider the authors' backgrounds and potential biases that may influence their perspective.
