Reasons to search for specific journal titles
There are several reasons why you might need to find a specific journal, depending on your level of study:
- Your lecturer recommended a journal (all levels): If your lecturer has recommended a specific journal for your research or coursework, it's essential to locate and browse through its content. This recommendation may be made to help you deepen your understanding of a topic or to provide valuable resources for your assignments.
- You want to browse a journal in your area of interest (all levels, especially postgraduate): As you develop your academic interests, you may want to regularly browse the contents of journals directly related to your field of study. This can help you stay up to date with the latest research and trends in your discipline.
- You need to verify library access to a journal (all levels): When you find a journal referenced elsewhere, such as in an article or on a website, you may need to check if the university library provides access to that specific journal. This is important to ensure that you can read and use the articles within the journal for your research and assignments.
- You're conducting a systematic review (postgraduate research): For postgraduate research students, particularly those pursuing a PhD, conducting a systematic review may be part of your research process. How to search for a specific journal using BrowZine
- Use the embedded BrowZine search widget on this page to search for the journal you need by entering its title or keywords related to the subject area or publisher.
- If the journal is available through BrowZine, you will see it listed in the search results. Click on the journal title to access its content.
- In the journal view, you can browse available issues, typically from 2005 onwards, and access PDF links for articles.
- If you need to access content published before 2005, click on the "View complete holdings in library catalog" link to check for additional coverage options.
A Note on Searching for Articles
While BrowZine is an excellent tool for finding and browsing journals, it is not designed for searching for articles. If you need to search for articles by topic or by author, please use LibrarySearch, our primary tool for article searching.
What if the Library doesn't provide access to the journal I need?
- If you can't find the journal you are looking for using BrowZine you can try one of the other academic search engines we recommend, as they may index additional content.
- Consider using interlibrary loan to request articles from the journal you need. The library can often obtain articles from other institutions on your behalf, although there may be an associated charge.
